Breast Augmentation

Plenty of women want breast augmentation to improve the appearance of breasts in size and shape, to make their body more proportional, to improve the stance of the breasts that are deformed due to breastfeeding or other reasons. Personal needs, requests, and expectations should be taken into consideration by the patient and surgeon together for a breast augmentation surgery.

Implant Shapes

Depending on the breast shape which is desired by the patient, a round or contoured implant could be chosen. Contoured implants have a drop shape and provide a more natural-looking breast appearance. Surface of the breast implants may be flat or rough.

The ideal breast size

The first stage of breast aesthetics is to determine the desired breast size and shape which the patient is going to have after the surgery. The expectation of the patient, body type, breast structure, and the surgeon’s recommendations are examined to follow the path. After the decision is made, preparations for the operation start.

Operation

The patient is usually discharged in a few hours after the surgery. Surgery usually takes 1-2 hours. The surgeon creates incisions and pockets to insert the breast implants. The incisions are sutured as soon as the implants are inserted. After the operation, the surgery will provide the required information for having the best results and a quick recovery.

Recovery Process

The healing process differs for every woman. Generally, having some pain for the following few days after the surgery is expected and it is nothing to be afraid of. In the first 3 days, you will probably feel a little bit uncomfortable since the breasts are swollen and bruised. Also, the breasts will be more sensitive to physical encounters. After one week, you will be able to get back to your daily activities comfortably. The recovery process after breast augmentation surgery is different for each woman (depending on the regular lifestyle; diet, alcohol, and tobacco consumption, etc.). The recommended time for resting is generally 4 or 5 days. After this period ends, returning to daily life without the least concern is possible. However, heavy exercises should be avoided till the time your surgeon allows you to do so.
