Face Lift Surgery
About Face Lift Surgery
Facelift surgery -also known as a rhytidectomy- is cosmetic surgery. With the facelift surgery, the sagging of the skin of the face and neck is removed, if any, fat under the chin is eliminated.
Usually, this operation is performed on men and women over the age of 40. Facelift surgery is done to make the face look more beautiful and younger.

Operation Process
The surgery is performed with sedation without general anesthesia. It normally takes 2-3 hours. On the same day, discharge is possible. In facelift surgery, the scar is not apparent. The scars are hidden in the scalp area, in front of and behind the ears. If fat is removed under the chin area, a 3-5 mm scar remains under the chin.
Postoperative
It is usually comfortable after surgery. There may be a general feeling of swelling and bruising, numbness and tightness on the face. Since facial nerves may be slightly affected by anesthesia during surgery, there may be slight asymmetries on the face. These will pass by themselves within 3-5 days. Head bandage is applied with eyes, nose and mouth open. General inspection and dressing changes are made. Hair is washed and the dressing is put back if necessary. Stitches are removed after 5-7 days.
The person can return to their daily activities and makeup after 1 week. It is important that the patient avoids heavy exercises for 3 weeks and protects it from external impacts.
